During Brody’s teenage years and while still living in Australia, her first band was a punk/grunge outfit called SOURPUSS. In 1995 they released a 7” vinyl titled “Solvent” and then in 1996 an EP CD titled “Tabouli.” They split after Brody had met Tim Armstrong (of Rancid) and relocated to Los Angeles, CA where The Distillers were formed. SOURPUSS consisted of Brody on vocals and lead guitar, Cobina Crawford on bass, Pree Lesley on guitar and Suzie Brown on drums. There were rumors that a rotating drummer for the band had been murdered while hitchhiking in the mid 1990’s. (Other members: “Sarah” and “Sheridan.”)
Some oldschool Sourpuss & Brody Dalle fun facts!

- Sourpuss rehearsed at the infamous Rock N Roll High School of Melbourne.
- Brody and Sarah were bestfriends.
- Before Bree was Brody, Brody often times spelt her name “Brodie.”
